Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center (SVRMC) Playground Project

SCE’s work with the SVRMC Playground Project continues to progress. Last quarter, SCE and Engineers Without Borders (EWB) members assisted local engineers, architects, and the hospital staff with 3-D Sketch-Up models of different equipment for the proposed playground. The architects then used these models in the proposed layouts of the playground.

In late November, SCE members attended a meeting with the entire project team. At this meeting, the architects presented two different themes to the hospital staff: the Tiny Town Main Street concept and the Tiny Town Figure-8 concept. Based upon the discussions at the meeting, the hosptial staff selected the Tiny Town Main Street concept. Currently, the architects, engineers, and hospital staff are working to finalize the Main Street concept. Once this has been done, additional tasks will be assigned to SCE later this quarter.

If you are interested in participating in this project or have any questions, please contact Roshani Patel at rjpatel@calpoly.edu.
