Simpson Strong Tie Building Tour

When: Friday March 6th, time TBD

What: A tour of the new Simpson Strong Tie building site on Campus (next the the CM building) with Earth Systems Pacific.  Earth Systems will also give a short presentation about on the work they have been doing with the building. This is a great chance to see engineering in action, and it is right in our own backyard.

Naval Facilities at Port Hueneme

What: A quick presentation on the breakdown of NAVY->NAVFAC->NFESC->Ocean Facilities->Seafloor Engineering by Blake Jung, a tour of the NFESC (Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center) learning about past and current projects they are in involved in, and the opportunity to see the Deep Oceans Laboratory and deep sea remotely operated vehicles.

Annual Tahoe Trip

When: February 12th-15th (Presidents Day weekend). We will be carpooling throughout the day on Friday Feb. 12.

Where: South Lake Tahoe, we will be renting a cabin

What: A fun chance to come and hang out with your SCE friends up in the snow, and on the mountain

How: Sign up at the PSWRC meeting, or our next general meeting, you can also email Yunling Chow at ychow@calpoly.edu to sign up.  Cost will be $120 and will include food, lodging, and a two day "mountain" ticket or only $60 if you do not wish to play on the mountain.

Where: Highway 41/101 in Atascadero

 

SCE Bonfire

What: S'mores and a warm fire on the beach while hanging out with new and old friends

When: Friday November 13, 6:30 PM

Where: Avila Beach fire pits


SCE Hikes Bishops Peak


When: Saturday November 7th, 10:30 AM

Where: Bishops peak

What: A nice easy hike up to the top of Bishop's Peak where we will picnic,
so pack a lunch

CalGeo/SCE Geotech Lab Tour

What: Tour a real Geotech laboratory at Earth Systems Geotech Lab
When: Friday October 16, 2009
          Tour is from 2:00- 3:00 pm or 3:00-4:00 pm
          Meet in front of Building 13 at 1:00 pm for the first tour and 2:00 pm for the second tour
