SCE volunteers worked with students from Santa Lucia Middle School to construct gravity defying flagpoles! January 19, 2012.

As part of an outreach event sponsored by Cal Poly’s Society of Women Engineers, SCE hosted several groups of middle school students from all over SLO County for Building an Engineer Day. Members taught these children all about Civil Engineering and challenged them with a bridge building activity. November 5, 2011.

Several SCE members braved the rain (and the mud) to go on a tour of the new State Route 46 Bridge that Caltrans is currently working on near Paso Robles, CA. This project is part of the second phase of a $74 million project. November 4, 2011.

On October 22, 11 SCE members joined hundred of others from the SLO area participating in Make A Difference Day. Members drove up to the Boys and Girl Club of Paso Robles and helped their staff clean up and maintain their building.

SCE offers the opportunity for members to play on an intramural soccer team. Fall 2011.

SCE was invited to be honored for the chapter's recent accomplishments between the 3rd and 4th quarters at Cal Poly’s 2011 Homecoming football game. In order to celebrate, members met up for a tailgate party before heading over to the stadium for the game. October 15, 2011

After learning about the construction of Cal Poly’s new Center for Science and Mathematics in the Second General Meeting, SCE was given the opportunity to tour the massive project site. October 14, 2011.

SCE hosted a bonfire at Avila Beach complete with s’mores, soccer, and scary stories! This event had a great turnout and everyone had a ton of fun! October 7, 2011.

For the first major social event of the year, SCE rented out a few lanes at the bowling alley on campus for all members to bowl a few frames, enjoy some food, and hang out with some great people. September 29, 2011.

Our first general meeting of the year was a success where members got the chance to meet new friends, eat delicious burgers, and watch an awesome presentation from Shimmick Construction! September 28, 2011.

As the incoming freshman complete their Week of Welcome, representatives from Cal Poly's many student chapters and clubs come together to showcase what their organization has to offer. September 18, 2011.

Each year during Cal Poly's Week of Welcome, officers and members of SCE put on lunch and a team-building activity to introduce incoming freshman to their peers and the student chapter. September 14, 2011.

The 2011 Student, Faculty, and Alumni BBQ was a huge success thanks to everyone that came out to enjoy a beautiful day in the sun with delicious food, good conversation, and an intense softball game. Although they put up a good fight, and got a few scrapes and bruises along the way, the students couldn’t outdo their experienced opponents for the second year in a row. May 28, 2011.

Tour of the new construction on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Project. The tour included looking at the Skyway, Self Anchored Suspension Span, and Yerba Buena Island Transition Structure. May 27, 2011.
