Cal Poly takes third at Concrete Canoe Nationals

3rd Place at the National Concrete Canoe Competition

The Cal Poly Concrete Canoe Team finished in third place at the National Competition in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This excellent finish continues the trend of recent years, with Cal Poly finishing in the top five for the past four years now.

The team took home top honors in the Final Product category, in which the canoes aesthetics, workmanship, and dimensional compliance were judged. Additionally, the team placed third in the design paper category and sixth in the technical presentation.

The paddling team put forth its best showing to date on the water, taking first in both the men's endurance and Co-Ed sprint. Third and Fourth place finishes in men's and women's sprints respectively added to the success. The girl's took sixth place in the endurace race in the midst of some of the most intense rain of the day.

Congratulations to the team for their sucess in Alabama, and for all their hardwork this year.
